I received a Sephora gift card for Christmas and it has been burning a hole in my pocket every since. I decided I wanted to use it for something I wouldn’t normally buy myself. After much walking around Sephora, I decided to buy Urban Decay’s Naked on the Run palette. I tend to balk at makeup over $50, so this was a splurge for me.
It appealed to me because it is an all in one travel palette, with shadow, blush, bronzer, mascara, eyeliner and gloss. Add foundation and brushes and it is everything I need for a trip. I also find it handy for getting ready in the morning. Everything in one place when you are running late!
I swatched everything, so you could get an idea of their pigment. I am a pale person, so keep that in mind when checking them out against my skin.
The compact is a tiny bit larger than what you probably envision a travel kit to be. I actually like that it is larger, because everything but the mascara is full size and therefore will last for several trips versus one. I also like that the pockets for the liner and gloss are large so you could swap them out for other full size products. The mirror is a great size for doing your makeup in a strange location. All in all, very happy with the actual compact.
Above are all five shadows swatched in the same order they appear in the compact. I haven’t used the rose glitter shadow yet, but it is fairly subtle so I may use it for a night out soon.
I swatched the bronzer, blush, gloss and eyeliner. I forgot to swatch the highlighter/light eyeshadow! It is very sheer.
The eyeliner is surprisingly dark and very pigmented. I haven’t used Urban Decay’s 24 hr liner before, so I can’t compare to their other colors, but I like this one.
The gloss is a nice neutral with a hint of pink and works well for me. I haven’t used the mascara yet, because I use a different brand, but will try it on my next trip.
The bronzer and blush are very similar to my Urban Decay Naked Flush set which I talked about in my 2014 Fave Beauty Products review. You can see in the photo they are very sheer.
All in all, I am pretty happy with this purchase. The eyeshadows all work for me and can be combined to create different looks. I like the lipgloss and bronzer/blush combo. I think it is going to be great for beach and summer trips when I have a bit of a tan.
Do you own Naked on the Run? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
