If you follow me on Facebook, you know I just got back from a sunny trip to Florida! It was fantastic reacquainting myself with the sun! Of course, I was greeted by hideous freezing rain and snow upon my return.
We had a chilly day last week in Florida, so I spent some time shopping on my trip. Shocker, I know!
St. Augustine has two great outlet malls right outside of town. One has higher end stores, like Gucci, Kate Spade (shown above), Michael Kors, bebe, American Apparel, Dooney & Bourke, Off Fifth, etc. The other one, which is across the highway, has JCrew, Under Armour, Coach, Ann Taylor, Gap and Banana Republic among others.
We then headed to downtown St. Augustine to check out the stores on St. George Street. In St. Augustine’s early days, St. George Street was its main street. Today, it’s a pedestrian only street with some really unique stores, some touristy shops and some great restaurants all mixed together. Parking is always hard to find, so plan to search for some if driving.
As part of the oldest city, the walls are made of coquina and some of the buildings are historical. Definitely worth checking out. I’ve been there many times, but always go back to see what’s new.
My first stop was House of Z’s sea glass shop. They hand make unique jewelry using sea glass they have collected from around the world. They are right next to the waffle cone shop, so definitely stop in for one of those!
I visited another of my faves, Dragonflies located at the opposite end of St. George Street. They have a mix of jewelry and giftables.
You may remember I received a pair of paper crafted dragonfly earrings from this store for my birthday last year. They have them in every color and pattern!
Have you been to St. Augustine? What are your favorite shops? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
