It was so hot in Pittsburgh this weekend, that we decided to catch a movie. We agreed to go see Trainwreck, the Amy Schumer movie. I thought you might want to hear my take (and my husband’s) on the movie.
Amy has been told from an early age that commitment is impossible and is living her life by that credo. She has an apartment, a job and a sort of boyfriend. She drinks too much, smokes too much weed and hooks up with random people on a frequent basis. Your basic trainwreck, but who isn’t a little bit of a trainwreck themselves?
As we begin to see Amy’s life, we see the reasons behind some of her decisions and while we may not agree with them, we understand them a bit more. There are tons of laughs in this movie, mostly provided by the assorted comedians and athletes sprinkled throughout the story.
I thought the movie was about 20 minutes too long, but definitely funny. I laughed a lot. I loved the famous cameos who were willing to make fun of themselves and their images. I’m not giving anything away by saying LeBron James is in it a ton, since he is in the previews. He is actually a pretty good actor, I was pleasantly surprised.
I rate movies by a “how much I am willing to pay to see them” scale (Free on Network TV, Pay Channel, DVD, Matinee, Full Price). We saw this as a matinee, but I would pay full price to see this, which is hearty praise!
Mr. Salty Blonde’s Take: It’s funny.
He’s a man of few words.
Did you see Trainwreck this weekend? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
