It happens every summer trends seem to take off all of a sudden, after simmering all winter and spring. Suddenly everyone seems to be sporting the latest trend. Is it because people go on vacation and see trends from different parts of the country and bring them home? Is it because people have more time on their hands to read magazines, surf the web? It’s just weird how things you see here and there, suddenly are EVERYWHERE seemingly overnight.
I rounded up a couple trends I’ve seen all summer. First up is the half top-knot. I have to say, I am not a huge fan. I don’t think it’s terribly flattering to the majority of people and it looks like you forgot to take your hair down after washing your face most of the time. That being said, there are a few people, with a TON of hair, that it looks okay on. I get the concept, it is nice to have your hair partially up and off your face, but still have it down during the hottest days, but I still think it is super messy looking. Here’s some examples of both types.

The Gray Hair trend has been sneaking up on us for awhile. Again, it’s not my fave look, but there are some people who can carry it well. In general, gray hair ages a person so much that this trend tends to work best on very young people, think 25 and under. Ranging from pewter to silver, I’ve also seen it blended with pastel colors too. It’s not a trend I would ever try, but I am also not under 25.
I’m not sure why the brightly colored hair trend exploded this summer, again, it’s been lingering around for quite some time. It could be because celebrities really embraced the look the last few months. If I had a different type of job, I could get behind this trend, but alas, I work in a very traditional business and it wouldn’t fly. I am ok with sporting a bright wig every once in a while though!
Love this aqua color! Makes me think of a mermaid!
A huge summer trend in 2015 has been the crop top for all. Not wanting to be limited by size, women everywhere were sporting crops this summer. I remember crop tops being popular in the late 80’s, so I think I will leave this trend for the younger crowd too!
What trends have you spotted this summer? Have you tried any of these? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
