If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I’ve been sporting some nail art lately. I am amazed at the talent nail artists are able to show. It’s crazy how much detail they are able to fit into such a small space. The best thing about nail art is that it is always evolving. Just type in #nailart on Pinterest or Instagram to see what I mean.
Personally, I don’t like a ton of busyness on my own nails and am drawn to mainly geometric nail art for myself. I’ve amassed quite a collection of examples to both try on my own and have done professionally. Here are what I think is the best geometric nail art out there right now.
Above is a picture of my own geometric nail art done by Alexa from Dallas Beauty Lounge. I loved this design. I was leaving for a two week trip and needed a design that went with everything I was packing. This fit the bill.
See my full review of Dallas Beauty Lounge here!
This is another example of my own personal nail art. Again, it was done at Dallas Beauty Lounge but this time by Kate. This design combined a bunch of ideas I had and Kate was able to put them all together. It has the negative space element, along with a black “wash”, plus it is geometric. I still have this design on my nails and am still getting compliments on it!
I cannot find the original source for this nail art, if you are aware of where it originated, please let me know so I can properly give credit.
This may be my next choice for nail art. I love that it’s a variation on my triangle and that it’s very subtle. Lots of others must like it too, because it is one of my most pinned images on Pinterest.
I love this combo of negative space and geometric shapes. I think I personally would like it even better in all black, but I am a minimalist at heart!
Again, this design features negative space and geometric art. Sensing a theme here? I love this design so much, it reminds me of origami! I’ve been seeing nail art with very thin lines lately, and I think a version of this with thinner lines would be amazing.
There are a lot of versions of this basic geometric nail art, but this is my favorite. I probably would substitute the periwinkley purple color for something else, but I love the moving black swipe.
I almost think I could do this one myself with a sharpie, but then I think, better not. This has all the elements I love, I’ve seen some versions with squares instead of triangle, but I am always drawn to those triangles!
I cannot find the original source for this nail art either, again, if you know where it is from, let me know so I can give credit.
This nail art is amazing. Even though, pretty much all my other faves are black and nude, and this one has ALL the colors in it, I love it! It’s just cool and would cause me to just stare at my nails all day. You could of course attempt this with less colors and have it still look pretty cool.
Which one is your fave? I’d love to hear about it in the comments! If you like what you see, check out my Pinterest Nail Board here.
