I attended the Kiss and Makeup Master Class this weekend in Bethel Park. I wasn’t 100% sure of what to expect, but it ended up being a great way to spend a slightly rainy Sunday. Lisa, the owner of Kiss and Makeup had gift bags, along with several different kinds of champagne, ready for us when we arrived.
The gift bags were pretty fabulous with a full set of smokey eye shadow brushes, a facial mask handmade by Lisa, an “everything brush”, and Lisa’s fave mascara. Lisa promised by the end of the class we would know how to use everything in the bag.
After some opening remarks, Lisa got to work on walking us through her makeup application on her assistant. Based on a survey all attendees completed prior to the class, Lisa knew we wanted to spend the majority of the time on Highlighting and Contouring and Lash Application. We spent lots of time talking about where to apply dark color to make features recede and light colors on areas you wish to highlight. As Lisa applied the color to her model, you could see her features come to life.
We took a break for some tasty refreshments and champagne refills and then got back to work! After the extensive discussion on HAC, we spent some time seeing a “15 minute face” application by Lisa on an attendee. This lesson involved a simple eye makeup, along with a quick HAC, finished up with a lipliner and gloss. We all chose some lip gloss to add to our goodie bag to replicate the look.
We finished up the lesson portion with a trip to the Lash Bar and picked out lashes to also add to our goodie bag. Lisa then walked through applying lashes, along with some techniques to try at home.
Each participant then had a before picture taken by the lovely Ginger Hites from Frames of Infinity and then, Lisa did each attendee;s makeup for their after photo. Lisa was open to any question we wanted to ask about makeup, along with her tips and bargains. All in all it was a great Sunday afternoon spent with some really friendly and interesting women talking about makeup. I would highly recommend attending the next one. I also thought about maybe holding a group class as a girl’s night out sometime! Wouldn’t that be fun? That sounds like you had a very fun time. =) I always like getting goodie bags not knowing what’s inside. I would love to go to something like that, thanks for sharing. =)
