Sunday is the Steeler home opener and I can’t wait! I’ve had season tickets for awhile now and I have way too much Steeler gear already, but I did buy a couple new things for the season. I thought I would share some of my new picks.
I randomly found this company on Instagram called Yinzburgh Stuff and I found their shirts funny, so I ordered a couple for some upcoming games. For those of you not from Pittsburgh, yinz is a contraction of you all, similar to y’all. It can also be used to describe native Pittsburghers, as in Yinzers. I personally don’t use it in conversation much if at all, but it is a very common word around here.
First up is a Halloween themed one. This shirt totally cracked me up and I can’t wait to wear it!
While I was at it, I bought this one too. I have a couple Christmas themed tshirts I wear when shopping and holiday’ing it up and this one also cracked me up.
At this price point, I honestly wasn’t expecting much quality wise, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. They did have that weird screen print smell, so I washed both of them. They came out of the laundry fine and the smell is gone. They are super soft, great tshirts and they fit true to size. The best part is you can buy these on Amazon! With prime, it was a no brainer. These are just a few of their styles, so check them out via the links above.
I am always on the lookout for a bag I can use for gameday. Since the NFL instituted the clear bag policy, it’s been a struggle. I don’t need to bring much into the game, but what I do bring, I don’t want to lose. I am talking about stuff like ID, credit card, money, my precious MAC lipstick! You know, the key items! I normally take an older Vera Bradley wristlet, but it doesn’t really go with my gear and it gets soaked during rainy games, plus everything was just thrown in there and I was always afraid of dropping something while fishing around in it. I found this bag and thought I would give it a try this year. I like the fact it is a crossbody, so I don’t have to worry about laying it down somewhere and forgetting it. I also like that there is a place for all my essentials, so easy to grab what I need when I am in the concession line.
I also have this version of the Dooney & Bourke NFL series. I told you I was a hoarder of Steeler gear! The pros of this style versus the crossbody is that the wristlet can be snapped onto your jeans belt loop. Dorky maybe, but a lifesaver when you are in a crowd. I never have to worry about it falling out of my pocket and my leaving it somewhere. It also has a zipper top which is a plus. The cons, and why I am trying out the cross body is that the wristlet is just one big pocket too. Same as my Vera Bradley one was.
I bought Steeler Nike’s last year, so I actually didn’t buy these, but I thought about it. Ha! They come out with a new version every year. I can’t really justify buying a new pair yet, but in a couple years, I will update mine. I actually bought the men’s version because I liked it better. I am showing both of this year’s versions below. PS: Every game, someone tells me they love my shoes and asks where I got them!
I also bought this in year’s past, but I am definitely wearing it to the opener. Most of my Steeler hats are black and when the sun is blazing, like it is supposed to be on Sunday, you don’t want to be wearing a black hat. I have this exact same hat. Perfectly fits my ponytail! I hate wearing fitted ones with a pony. Annoying!
What do you wear to games? I am always looking for fresh and new ideas, so let me know in the comments!
