Howdy Friends!
I am back from an extra long holiday/birthday weekend! I honestly didn’t think many would notice, so thank you for letting me know you missed my posts! I have tons to talk about in the next couple days, so please keep checking back in.
The pre-birthday part of my time off consisted of a trip to a blow dry bar (I will be blogging about this experience later in the week), lunches with girlfriends, plenty of time relaxing on my deck, fireworks and pool time. The weather was absolutely amazing, as you can tell in these iPhone snaps.
My birthday was great! Most of my family came over the day before and hung out at the house, we swam in the rain and wore mustache tattoos! My mom brought me a fragrant arrangement of herbs and flowers in a vase I made her in grade school (which miraculously held water) and my sister brought me a bouquet of sunflowers.
On my actual birthday, I really wanted a good steak, so we went to a local steakhouse. We had planned to go out downtown over the weekend, but then decided we didn’t want to deal with traffic on our days off, plus the Furry convention was in town, which makes everything even crazier!
The food turned out to be amazing! Plus they had copper mugs, so I was able to have an authentic Moscow Mule! Awesome!! I was fascinated by the knives at the restaurant, so much so, I had to take a photo! I never saw knives that balanced on the edge like that (perhaps I need to get out more!)
I received a ton of amazing gifts from my husband and family. My sister had just returned from a beach that bears my name, so she bought anything pink with my name on it! My brother, among other things, made me an adjustable necklace to use with a pendant and earring set his girlfriend gave me. My mom gave me a couple things, one of which were delicate dragonfly earrings made from waxed paper. Not sure my photo conveys how delicate they really are, super cool!
My husband bought me a keyboard for my iPad, so I don’t have to drag my laptop into bed with me to update my blog at night! He also ordered me a design layout of Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment! Love it!! Can’t wait to hang it in my office! And his big gift was a seat and trip to a blogging conference, so I can learn more about blogging. Looking forward to attending this fall.
