I am a complete and utter Pinterest addict. I pin late into the night and most likely need a 12-step program to recover, but it relaxes me. I think it is equivalent to what gamers do, though most gamers would probably freak at that comparison. It’s just my way of getting into a zen mode. If you haven’t followed my Pinterest boards yet, please do! I have a Pinterest button on my sidebar. I thought it might be interesting to see what I am pinning lately, since my pins will most likely fuel my next Pinterest experiment!
I have a giant wall in my living room that I haven’t ever been able to find the right piece for and thought a gallery wall might be a good solution. My sister started me off with a set of frames and I have been adding to the pile ever since. I have a major phobia of hanging things on the wall for fear of hating them and wanting to change them which then involves, filling the holes, touch ups, etc. I am trying to convince myself it isn’t the end of the world and just do it. To help with my phobia, I have been pinning some fantastic gallery walls featuring photos, typography and various found objects. Here’s some of my faves!
I love the above solution from the blog Tidbits and Twine for that blank wall around the flat screen situation. It is a great mixture of found objects and photos.
I love how symmetrical the gallery above is and how all the photos appear to be close up portraits.
I do not know the source of the above photo but found it on Pinterest, if you know the source, please let me know, so I can credit them. I love the idea of using shelves allowing you to easily switch out photos and frames without the need to drill holes. I also like the mix of color and black and white photos and frames.
The above example is from Pottery Barn. Again, great use of shelves to display photos. I am leaning towards black and white photos with black frames, but could be persuaded to have a few color photos thrown in. Ugh! It’s so hard to decide! Way too many choices!! Do you have a gallery wall? Is it something you think you would like to have in your home?
