Have you been invited to the dreaded Adult Halloween party yet? How stressful is it to come up with a costume? I’ve had some good ones and some bad ones. For the record, it is never a good idea to glue spiders to your face with eyelash glue. Not that I would know or anything! While going store bought is super easy, just expensive, the choices today are pretty slutty. I know some people look at Halloween as a time to let out their inner stripper, I haven’t really understood why, though to each his own. I always think of Halloween as more of a time to show your creativity.
Speaking of creativity, I found an amazing site that has nothing, but feature home made costumes. It’s such a great resource! Everything from babies to adults to pets! I rounded up a couple of my adult favorites below, but be sure to check her out at Really Awesome Costumes here. She links to each costume’s original post, so you can see the complete tutorials.
I am not a big fan of clowns, but this clown wig made from yarn pom poms is really cool. I linked to the actual tutorial, but found the photo on Really Awesome Costumes blog.
How freaking cool is this DIY piñata costume? Love it! She used a tank dress and attached crepe paper streamers to it. Easy to wear all night at a party, which for me is key! Nothing worse than a big cumbersome costume all evening.
I don’t know why, but I like this flamingo costume. It cracks me up. I can just imaging myself standing on one leg at a party all night. Ha!
Great group costume above that would be easy to recreate. Everyone goes as a different social media icon. Their hand signals crack me up in this photo too. You could even wear this one to work if your work does the dreaded costume day.
How about you? Are you a buyer or a maker? I’d love to hear about it in the comments!
